John began his career as an art director for Anderson Advertising and a designer for Eickhoff, Hannan, Rue before launching Rio Design in 1994. Through his design leadership Rio Design has developed a reputation for timely and effective creative development.
As lead designer for the studio he oversees creative for a wide range of materials for clients, including projects like Trinity University annual reports, Gambrinus beer point of sale materials, logos for numerous business launches and branding, and even an award-winning book cover design for bestselling author Max Lucado's 3:16 title. In addition to receiving numerous local and regional design awards he has been published in American Corporate Identity.
John is a lifelong resident of San Antonio. He and his wife Lori have three children. John enjoys his time at home, at the office, and on the lake fishing.
